In conjunction with the City of Biloxi and Gulf Coast Carnival Association, we invite children ages 12 and under to participate in the Children's Walking Parade as well as the Costume and Float Contest following the parade at Biloxi City Hall!
The theme for the parade as well as the costume and float contest is "Pop!," known widely as an art movement of the 1950's-1970's that blended fine art, advertising, and popular culture using bright, bold colors and clear, graphic images. Think artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Richard Hamilton. Coastal artists such as George Ohr, Walter Anderson, and Dusti Bongé can also be used as inspiration!
Applications can be picked up through all Biloxi schools, at the Biloxi Visitors Center or Parks and Recreation Office, or the museum. Applications are due Friday January 30. Should you miss this deadline, late registration will be held before the parade from 9-9:45am at the Bond House. A bag of throws will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring additional throws.
Note: Due to safety concerns, motorized vehicles ARE NOT permitted in the parade or contests. This includes battery-powered children's cars and motorcycles. In the event of rain, the parade is canceled. No pets not identified as service animals are not permitted in the parade or post-parade celebration.
